Athletes

Who Can Join?

Any student-athlete may join the team if:

  • You are entering 6th through 12th grade
  • You attend Manitou, Coronado, or Palmer, or any of their corresponding middle schools OR
  • Your school does not have an MTB team and any of those schools are the closest team to your home.

We welcome riders from outside our three schools! If you’re further away, we’ll be happy to help connect you with a closer team.

  • Other Colorado Springs school teams include:
    Air Academy, Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs School, Discovery Canyon, Woodland Park, and Lewis Palmer.

What to Bring on a Ride

  • Bike (in good working order)
  • Bike helmet, gloves, eye protection, and sunscreen
  • Appropriate footwear and cycling clothes
  • Water 20oz/hour — bottle(s) or hydration pack
  • Snacks (200–300 calories/hour)
  • Bike repair kit (tube, tire levers, and a pump or CO2)
  • Excitement for riding bikes!

Registration Fees

  • Middle School: $70 team fee + $95 league fee
  • High School: $70 team fee + $190 league fee
  • Returning Alumni (Legacy): $70 team fee + $30 league fee

How to Register

Step 1 — Team/League Registration (March 16 – October):

Register through the Colorado League on the CCN website using the link and password for your school:

High school racers must also separately register for the Colorado League 2026 Race Series:

  • Register separately on CCN for the Colorado League 2026 Race Series
  • Personalized race plates: register by July 31st
  • Series registration deadline: August 24th at noon

Step 2: Join the TeamSnap app to connect with teammates and access calendar events.

Step 3: Order team apparel through the online store (opens March, closes October).

Coaches

Coaching is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to the sport and make a direct impact on the next generation of riders. Our coaches are a passionate group of cyclists who guide athletes through skill development, fitness, and the joy of racing.

What’s Expected

  • Attend team rides (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during the season)
  • Participate in in-house coaching rides and training sessions
  • Coaching certification courses, training, and background check are required (the league offers resources and training sessions)
  • Enthusiasm for youth development and mountain biking

How to Register as a Coach

  • Follow the same link as above
  • Select “Coach” when going through the registration process
  • Complete your background check following the link in CCN
  • Complete your Level 1 / Level 2 training courses following the links in CCN

Scholarship

We believe cost should never be a barrier to riding. Help is available at both the team and league levels.

Team Scholarships

The team has limited scholarship funds available for athletes with financial need. Contact the coaches to ask about team scholarship availability for the current season.

League Scholarships

The Colorado League offers scholarship sponsorships for both student-athletes and coaches. Visit the Colorado League Scholarships page for current options and application details.
